Mini-workshop on CDB and Post-Nagoya Protocol: Current Issues and Implementation (Bogor, 5 December 2011)

A mini-workshop discussing current issues on CBD and their implementation was held in the meeting room of CARDS-IPB: Center for Agricultural and Rural development Studies (PSP3) Buidling at Baranangsiang Campus, Bogor. The workshop was jointly organized between IPB and Yayasan KEHATI and was attended by around 40 participants, i.e. scientists, IPB lecturers, research institution in and around Bogor, Ministry of Environment (KLH) and LIPI. The meeting was officially opened by Vice Rector for Research and Collaboration IPB, Prof. Anas M. Fauzi and the invited resource persons able to attend were Dr. Teguh Triono (LIPI), Ms. Vidya S. Nalang (KLH), Dr. M. Agil (ICO IPB) and Mr. Basuki Rahmat (Yayasan KEHATI). Discussion of the workshop was moderated by Dr. Damayanti Buchori (@izs).

Dr. Iskandar Z Siregar is a professor at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia. His research interests are Population Genetics of Forest Trees, Molecular Genetics of Forest Plants, , Conservation and Sustainable Management of Tropical Forest Genetic Resources, Forest Tree Improvement, Forest Adaptation and Genetics in Silviculture. Current research projects are Genetic Variation of Shorea spp, Aquillaria spp., Melia spp. and Toona spp, Genetic Marker based Chain of Custody (CoC) in Timber (teak, agarwood and dipterocarps), Genetic Risks of Species Extincion (Endangered Shorea spp.), Conservation of Tree Genetic Resources outside Forests.
